Hope Mission is participating
in Souper Bowl 2010!
For those of you who do not know about this exciting event, here are a few facts:
-Souper Bowl is an offering held on Super Bowl Sunday, February
10, 2010, in each of the area churches in Carteret County. We are asking each
church to take up a collection of $1.00 from each church member to be
distributed to Hope Mission so we may buy the necessary food and pay for our
expenses in running Hope Mission’s Community Kitchen so we can serve
approximately 125 people and families six days a week, all year long.
-During this service, we will also have large donation boxes at
each of the major churches in the lobbies so that families can donate can goods
and other food items to be used by the Community Kitchen in preparing meals.
-Boxes will also be placed in many of the area’s major grocery
stores and restaurants for the collection of can goods and other non-perishable
foods for use in the kitchen.
-Families who want to contribute directly to this wonderful annual
fundraiser may do so by sending in a check payable to Hope Mission and
designated to “Souper Bowl” to Post Office Box 1438, Morehead City, NC 28557 and
the funds will only be spent for the operation of the Community Kitchen. Also,
individuals and/or family can bring food items any business day before 2:00 p.m.
directly to the Community Kitchen at 1410 Bridges Street.
-Many of you are active church members and you might want to talk
to your ministry leaders about doing something special in your church for this
event! Historically, this event has been lead by youth groups in the churches
as a special project and has raised lots of money for worthy charities. We hope
you will think of doing this for Hope Mission this Super Bowl Sunday! There are
also great resources and fun ideas to be found on the National Souper Bowl
Website, which can be linked at:

same time!
